WHAT YOU DONT WANT

She cooks your meals
And smiles when you scream
Or when you laugh.
Love has been here before
But the night bells
And dancing brings you
To something you didn’t want
And what you don’t want
Is what brings the air in you
And the cigarettes you don’t smoke
Bring the spark in you
And the lady with glitter around her eyes
And burgundy lipstick
Kisses you, and brandy gets stuck in your teeth.
What you don’t want
Is what you need.
Mundane meals and mundane smiles
Makes you into something you
Never were
